General FAQs

I’m Natalie Porter – cake maker, sugar florist, author, creator of the Rapid Rose and owner of Immaculate Confections. The chap in the hat is my long-suffering and mostly patient husband, Chris. He’s my favourite person ever!
We run everything from our home studio in the South-East of England, just north of London in a wee village called Roydon, on the Herts/Essex border. We don’t have a physical shop that you can visit, but we can ship all over the world…
You can buy our full range of products right here on our website – just visit our online shop to view all our colours, classes, the Rapid Rose range, equipment, books and more…
We don’t sell via Amazon – they take a bunch of fees and to be honest, we feel that we better serve our customers right here from our own website, without the middle man. We ship worldwide from the UK, so no matter where you are you can enjoy our books and products.
The Rapid Rose is my little green baby! Released back in 2016, it’s a unique product and method which makes the creation of sugar roses* really easy and quick… ‘rapid’ in fact! You can find out more by clicking here.

*It can also be used to make other flowers, such as peonies, ranunulus, dahlias… all sorts! Check out our Online Classes to learn how to create all these flowers, and more…
My own, of course!
Our flowerpaste is a fantastic product for newbies and experienced sugarcrafters alike: it has the perfect amount of stretch and softness, it doesn’t dry too quickly, or too slowly… It colours beautifully, holds its shape, and can be rolled nice and thin. I love it, and having sold thousands and thousands of packets, our students and customers love it too!

Yes! We love to get out and about, demo’ing sugar flowers and meeting like-minded cakey people. If you would like to book me for a demo please get in touch and we can work it out.

Online Classes FAQs

You can find all the online classes in the ‘Online Classes‘ section of the shop. You will need to buy the course in the same way that you would buy any other product. You will be asked to create an account when you buy the class – please do so, and make a note of your username and password, as these are the details you will use to login and access the class.

Yes there are. Each class has step-by-step pdf instructions which you can download and print off, as well as an equipment list. You will find the documents available to download from the class in your student area.

All our classes are hosted right here, on our website. Simply log in to your account, click on the relevant class, and thus view the lessons.

You sure can! The classes are broadcast live onto our website in the first instance, and then are available to watch as much as you like afterwards.

You will have lifetime access to them, so you can watch them as much as you like!

You can if you like but we advise against doing this. The reason we say this is because if we waited for everyone to reach the same point the class would overrun. We think it is best if you watch along first if you are watching live, and then go back and watch the videos later at your own pace.

You can. We will try to answer them as we go along, but if we’re not able to then we will take note of them and answer them at a more convenient point.

Of course! You can use the Q&A module in the class, ask in our dedicated Student Group on Facebook, send us a message, or send an email. We will always do our best to help!

Cake FAQs

Please know that each year we take on a very limited number of custom design cake commissions. Each cake is unique, so please get in touch with us via email and include as many details as possible about your requirements so we can work with your needs.
For wedding cakes we will generally deliver within an hour driving distance of UK postcode CM19, though under certain circumstances we will deliver further afield. Delivery is charged at £1 per mile.
Each and every one of our cakes is unique and as such, each cake carries a unique price.
The cost of your cake will be based upon a number of factors, including ingredients, complexity and time taken to bake and decorate. Some of our more complex designs can take dozens of hours to produce and perfect. Please note we have a minimum order value of £450.
At the very least please let us know the date, the location, and the number of servings you require for your cake. To enable us to give you a more accurate quote please also let us know your design ideas and the styling for your wedding. Do feel free to send a couple of photos of cakes or other wedding things that inspire you.
Unfortunately no, at the moment we do not make birthday cakes.
